Frequently asked questions.

  • No, you do not need to be referred by your Physician in order to receive care from us. Since 2007, physical therapists, have what is referred to as “direct access“ which means you as a patient can come directly to a physical therapist without a doctors referral.

If you do have a doctors referral, you’re welcome to share that with us and we will keep that in your file.

  • Our rates are all transparent on our scheduling page here.

Although the initial evaluation and subsequent follow up appointment rates are shown, with some patients we will create a plan of care with the anticipated costs once we have evaluated you.

This is done on an individual basis because everyone is different and different conditions need different care.

  • No. No imaging is required before seeing us.

Imaging, like x-rays, MRIs, or CT scans can be an important tool with some conditions. However, the research is clear – imaging on the majority of musculoskeletal conditions is associated with poorer outcomes and prolonged duration of pain and limitations.

In some instances, your symptoms and movement presentation will indicate that imaging may be indicated. We will let you know that if and when that happens.

Many patients have already received images. If this is the case for you, you’re welcome to share the reports or images with us, however, it is not mandatory in most situations.

  • While we cannot answer that question without knowing more information, we can confidently say that if it is a common joint and muscle area pain which limits or creates pain with movement most anywhere in the body, we typically can successfully treat it.

From neck and headache pain, to arms, hands, torso, back, leg, and foot pain. We also treat patients who may not have pain, but simply are unable to do what they need to do to function optimally.

Pins and needles, numbness, heaviness, weakness, dizziness, lightheadedness, unsteadiness are some other symptoms that patients report and find success through our care.

  • How soon patients feel relief depends on a number of variables. Different conditions respond at different rates. However, observations of our patients over the years has shown that over 70% of our patients report 50% or more relief within 3 to 4 visits. Those 3 to 4 visits are more commonly within one to two weeks of the initial appointment.

  • The first question we aim to answer is, “Are you an appropriate patient for our clinic.”
Although infrequent, a few patients in a year need more immediate, medical treatment. Our assessment process enables us to identify those patients in a rapid way.

When your symptoms don’t respond in a way that predicts a good prognosis with our care we help you find a better clinician who can deliver what you need.
